Matthew Pruyn’s Experience:

I joined Baird in 2010 and a year later completed Baird’s unique Wealth Management Development program. As a Financial Advisor, I provide expertise in retirement planning, retirement plan design for business owners, education planning, estate planning, and portfolio management. I also partner with both Baird’s internal experts and outside professionals for additional resources in specialized areas including advanced tax and estate planning.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in finance from Marquette University where I participated in the Applied Investment Management program. In 2018, I earned my CFP® designation. I also hold an ADPA® designation, specializing in the unique estate and financial planning needs of LGBT individuals and domestic partners.

I joined Baird’s Chicago office in 2018 and subsequently moved to the Client Specialist role in 2020. I work alongside Matt to provide the best comprehensive financial services to all our clients. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional as well as a registered general securities representative.

I am a graduate of the the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Bloomington. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business with a double major in Marketing and Professional Sales and a co-major in International Business. I also hold the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

How We Work

My goal is to serve as my client’s one-stop shop for financial planning and investment needs. I maintain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. The designation comes with extensive training in financial planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, taxes, employee benefits and retirement planning, as well as in accordance with the CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, which are rigorously enforced.

As a part of my wealth management process, I will conduct a thorough discovery meeting to deeply understand my client’s current situation and lifestyle goals. The next step is to tailor a financial plan and investment recommendation designed to help my client’s best reach their objectives. I monitor and track progress annually, and can update or modify existing goals as needed for material changes. To better align myself with my client’s interests, I invest alongside my clients into the ideas and solutions I recommend.

To help me best serve my clients, I have registered client specialist, Susan Anderson, on my team who delivers outstanding client service and brings a unique angle to the practice. We firmly believe in building long-term relationships centered on a high level of mutual trust and open communication.
